Leaders
Tak
A graduate of the Osaka College of Music and an overseas student of Frank
Kaderabek (former principal trumpet, Philadelphia Orchestra), Takuya Maeda
joined The Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, a full time professional orchestra in Osaka, and performed with them from 1979 to 1989. In addition he was a Band Clinician for Yamaha Music Foundation Japan for many years where he conducted mass/honour bands at Yamaha sponsored clinics/festivals and
was mentor to younger band instructors. In 1990 he and his family moved to Canada. He played trumpet with
the Pacific Symphonic Wind Ensemble, was Choir Director of the Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, Bandmaster
of the North Vancouver Youth Band (2002/03), and is the Current Conductor of the West Vancouver Concert Band and West Vancouver Adult Pops Band.
Blair
Blair Fisher directs the Jazz Connexion. Seen here in a
recent photograph, Blair is
currently on faculty at Douglas College in New Westminster, BC, where he teaches
trumpet and directs the Concert and Jazz Bands. He holds a Bachelor of
Music from the University of Victoria and a Master of Music from the University
of Miami, both in trumpet performance.
Freddie
Freddie Fudd leads the Rolling Clones. There's nothing like a good band
leader and that certainly describes Freddie. When you hear the laughter from the
crowds at the antics of this bizarre band, you'll be glad that your father didn't stand too close to
that leaky old microwave. The "Fudds" always radiate fun and
excitement — along
with a few subatomic particles.
The
Leadership Group
The identity of the Band's "Leadership Group" is a secret so closely
guarded they don't seem to know who they are themselves some of the
time. There have been rumours that Peter, Dave, Ron,
Henrik, and John
may be partly responsible. There have been as many rumours suggesting they may be irresponsible. We have noticed that Marilynn is acting in a very Presidential manner.
